Progressive solutions of high quality
We carry out the development and application of systems for occupant safety as well as the development of functions and system components for driver assistance and steering systems. Additionally we develop and manufacture components which are used in the Bosch systems for engine control, active driving safety and energy management in motor vehicles.
Competent in automotive electronics
Every fifteenth of our approximately 16,000 employees works in research and development. Using our know-how we have adapted the concepts of our equipment to the requirements of motor vehicles. Design capability in all important semiconductor technologies is the basis for the suitable partitioning of the systems into application-specific electronic components. The competence in these fields enables us to develop innovative products and functions. Examples of this are airbag control units with rollover sensing, micromechanical yaw-rate sensors for vehicle navigation and the Electronic Stability Program ESP® as well as vehicle surround sensors for occupant protection and driver assistance systems. Semiconductor components from Bosch are also used by other suppliers of automotive equipment. These include chip sets and sensors for airbag activation and for engine control as well as diodes and controllers for generators.
World-wide presence
Our factories in Europe, Japan, Mexico, Australia, USA, China and Korea supply electronic and mechanical products to vehicle manufacturers all over the world. Other production facilities of the Bosch manufacturing network produce control units using standardized assembly concepts. The factories are certified in accordance with ISO/TS 16949 and regional
environmental standards. The local organizations of the Bosch Group take charge of the systems' application at the customer's plant.

Automotive Electronics is currently manufacturing the following products in Suzhou:
- Airbag control units
- ABS and ESP control units
- Motor management control units for Diesel engines
- Transmission Control Systems
- Driver-Assistance Systems
- Body electronics for e.g. wiper-motor, window-lifter, door control units and body computers.
We produce mainly for our internal and external customers in the Chinese
market, but also export from Suzhou into the Asia-Pacific region.
