Our plans to phase out the use of chlorinated hydrocarbons (CHC's) worldwide at Bosch provided for their gradual replacement by 2005. The last system to be closed down in Germany, which was disassembled at the beginning of 2006, contained 19.8 metric tons of chlorinated hydrocarbons, which were disposed of in accordance with the relevant regulations. The only exceptions are locations that we have recently acquired. They have been granted a two-year period in which to stop using CHC's.
