Bosch’s total investment in Jiangsu province reaches 540million euros. In 2006 alone, Bosch invested 80 million euros in Jiangsu. Today, 5 large Bosch automotive plants are located in Jiangsu Province. In Nanjing, Bosch has set up several Sparkplug and Steering System factories. Bosch's leading technologies contribute to Jiangsu's economic development
For more than 20 years, Bosch has offered innovative products and solutions that contribute to the development in Jiangsu and China. In fact, the Bosch Group has made protection of the environment and conservation of resources a long-term cornerstone of its overall strategy. The Bosch “3S principle” – Sicher (safe), Sauber (clean), Sparsam (economical) – is consistent with China's goal of creating a resource-saving and environment friendly society, as stated in the 11 th five year plan.
In April 2005, Bosch set up its Engineering Center in Suzhou. The Center, with over 200 engineers, provides comprehensive component and system tests, and helps advance road safety technology.
In 2005 Bosch began producing very efficient Common Rail diesel technology in its Wuxi plant for the production and development of advanced diesel systems. At its engineering center in Wuxi, more than 300 engineers strive to make modern diesel technology more environmental friendly and more marketable.
R&D investment supports talent development in Jiangsu Province
Bosch's leading efforts in talent cultivation take place at its R&D facilities in Wuxi and Suzhou. Bosch cooperates with several universities on research and development projects and also holds Bosch training courses, as well as granting of scholarships and of internships. In addition, Bosch has joined forces with technical colleges in Wuxi to develop a special training program and two annual Bosch study courses provide training for students majoring mechanical engineering.
The mutually-beneficial cooperation between Bosch and the Jiangsu government has been the key to Bosch's success in Jiangsu and made possible Bosch's contribution to the local economy. Peter Pang, President of Bosch ( China) Investment Ltd., expressed his appreciation to the Jiangsu Government for supporting Bosch during the past 23 years. “The infrastructure and quality of human resources in Jiangsu is among the best in China.
