- Three newly-launched production lines in 2008
- Accelerated localization and R&D efforts for innovative automotive technologies for safety, comfort and intelligence in China
Suzhou , March 21, 2008 – The Bosch Group, the leading global supplier of automotive technology and services, announced the launch of three new production lines for automotive electronics in China in 2008. They are a new Parking Aid System sensor line for Driver Assistance Systems, an additional production line for Airbag-ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and a production line for micro-hybrid technology. With the increased production capacity, Bosch can meet the growing demand in China for automotive safety and comfort technology and at the same time Bosch can export this technology to the Asia Pacific region.
The new Parking Aid System was already successfully installed to meet the increasing demand of Chinese car owners for technology that can improve driving comfort and help to prevent accidents. In April, t he second production line equipped with state-of-the-art micro-hybrid technology for ABS/ESP ECU will be launched. During the second quarter the additional production line for Airbag-ECU will also start production.
Bosch Automotive Electronics Suzhou also manufactures engine management control units for diesel engines and other advanced automotive electronics products. Established in 2006, Automotive Electronics Suzhou will employ more than 1,000 employees by the end of 2008. At present around 100 associates are working in the R&D area where Bosch improves, customizes and optimizes its technologies and products to satisfy local demands. For the coming years Bosch Automotive Electronics will continue to invest in new production facilities in China.
Bosch is constantly inventing to protect vehicle occupants with innovative products that help prevent and reduce the effects of accidents. Bosch has invented and made available on a global scale Advanced Parking Aid systems, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Night Vision systems.
