Beijing's Bird's Nest was back to work after its debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics for the 2009 National Stadium Summer Concert, which took place on June 30. The concert featured a massive Electro-Voice sound system, which comprised 200 EV boxes for the main PA and 48 QRx115 for stage monitors. The system was also powered by P3000 amplifiers and featured signal processing via Dx38 speaker processors. All equipment was provided by rental company East Voice Equipment Company Limited.
The concert at the National Stadium featured many Chinese artists, including singer Song Zuying, pianist Lang Lang, Spanish tenor Placido Domingo, and Taiwanese pop artist Jay Chou. Also featured at the event were the 186 members from the Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra along with 160 choir members conducted by Long Yu.
